Successfully Surviving Rejection
by Andrea Waltz
The more times you successfully survive a rejection, the more you will "numb" yourself to the emotional sting. And most important, the less you will fear it.
This is true with everything in life.
When you experience something that scares you, often enough, it loses its power over you.
Imagine that you were scared of going on a rollercoaster. But everyday, someone made you ride it. It might take a few days or even a few weeks or months... but eventually, you would no longer fear being on that rollercoaster. You'd be used to the speed, the turns, the drops, and everything about it.
The interesting thing is, your comfort level would get so improved and increased that you would be able to ride even faster, scarier rides.
And that's exactly how expanding the comfort zone works.
The main character in "Go for No!" paraphrases a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson which goes: "Do the thing and you will have the power."
We hope you do the thing this year. And that's to Go for No!
