This Month's NOtivational Quote
|
"You may be surprised and encouraged to learn that while inability to deal with fear may look and feel like a psychological problem, in most cases it isn’t. I believe it is primarily an educational problem, and that by re-educating the mind, you can accept fear as simply a fact of life rather than a barrier to success."
- Susan Jeffers, Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway

The School of Rejection
by Andrea Waltz
A poor young man, 21 years old, went to see an astrologer.
The astrologer saw his horoscope and said, "You will have very bad time till the age of 40 years."
The young man asked with lots of anticipation, "And after 40 years?"
The astrologer smiled and said, "You will get used to it by then."
Ralph Waldo Emerson said: "That which we persist in doing becomes easier, not that the nature of the task has changed, but our ability to do has increased."
From a go for no perspective, the actual rejection doesn't get easier. You do however, get better. Because:
- You choose to look at failure and rejection in an empowering way.
- You learn from the NOs you get, and keep improving your skills.
- You change by detaching from the outcome so you no longer take no personally.
- You practice asking in the moments you'd rather not and build your courage.
When can you say you've graduated for good? The school of Go for No (like all self development) is lifelong.
That said, there are two wonderful ways to make what you've learned about failure, rejection, and go for no stick:
1. Stay in practice. Keep going for no!
2. Share it with others.
Wherever you are in your studies, we are grateful to be a part of your journey.
