This year has already had its share of crazy events so far hasn't it? Between politics, sports, and entertainment, there have been some wild highs and lows.
There have also been some powerful Go for No stories. Here are a few recent ones to keep you NOtivated to love the journey and inspired to stay on the path.
Sometimes we are hesitant to make bold predictions and share our goals with others because... what if we don't make it? It feels safer to be silent about our dreams.
That can't possibly encourage our minds and heart about what we want to achieve.
In 2010, Demi Lovato tweeted that someday she'd sing the national anthem at the Superbowl. Weeks ago, it came true. She proclaimed it. And it happened. It only took 10 years! Maybe it wouldn't have happened. But isn't it worth the risk? We can't be afraid to give a voice to our dreams.
Speaking of the Superbowl... the game itself was a story of not giving up no matter how bad things looked. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes said this after the game: "We never lost faith — that’s the biggest thing." In 2013 he tweeted that, "it must be awesome to be the winning Super Bowl QB that says, I'm going to Disneyland." Seven years later he was able to speak those words and he came to Disney World here in Orlando.
About a week ago, Benny and Josh Safdie won Best Director for the movie, UNCUT GEMS at the 35th Film Independent Spirit Awards. In their acceptance speech, they revealed that starring actor Adam Sandler said "no" to them ten years ago and then said "no" five years ago and then said "yes" two and a half two years ago. Another ten year overnight success story!
Your success doesn't have to be the Superbowl or a national awards show. How you define success is up to you. But the ingredients to get there - persistence, belief, and the willingness to try and fail - are universal.
The path is the same. Love the journey.
