Spring is upon us and it reminded me of this quote: “Indecision is the seedling of fear." - Napoleon Hill
I am really indecisive. (Ask Richard. He asks me where I want to go to dinner and my answer is, "I don't care, what do you feel like?")
Does that sound familiar? :)-
We all must be constantly making decisions.
And fear is often the thing that causes problems. What is the fear? I bet you know what I'm going to say: fear of making a mistake. (Exactly!)
Granted, I don't think I fear that going to sushi over Italian will alter our lives, but
seriously, indecision and letting fear run your choices becomes a bad habit.
I've forced myself to really focus on what I want and not letting indecision keep me from doing things. (Should we? Shouldn't we? Is now the right time? Or maybe next year?)
As you will see if you read below, we have been
doing a lot of NEW things, which brings up plenty of excitement but also some fear. How have I dealt with it?
I embrace that on the path to success there are the stepping stones of failure. In all of our new ventures some things succeed, others fail and you try again. I also believe in challenging my thinking.
Instead of saying, "I can't decide if we should..." I ask, "what do I fear?" And I face those fears rather than hiding behind indecision. We all know, fear is not your friend when it comes to making decisions that can
really change your life for the better. It keeps you safe... only for now.
