Action Creates the Opportunity

We hear it all the time: take action. I see memes on Facebook and Instagram on taking action daily. Enough already. And yet...  

No matter how much you read, listen and think you must act. One of the things I have learned being in business and an entrepreneur for almost 20 years is, no one is going to rescue you. You have to save yourself.

Some people say, "opportunity knocks." What if opportunity does not knock? What if we knock and opportunity answers?

Motivation is crucial because we have to constantly be fighting our fears. Education is critical because we have to learn skills to execute our plans. But I know this, all the wonderful things that have happened in our business happened because we took action and did what we needed to do.

Go out and do something. It's what saving yourself is all about.
In Memory 
In 2007, a few months after we founded our company, Courage Crafters Inc. we went to the Humane Society to "maybe" adopt a cat. Richard immediately noticed a white and grey cat who let Rich pet him through the cage.

That was it. This one was coming home with us.

We named him Courage. He became our daily companion, "writing partner" and mascot. Everyone who has worked for us worked alongside Courage too. This past weekend as we were making dinner, Courage suddenly became terribly sick. We rushed him to an emergency vet but they were unable to save him. Though completely heartbroken, we are grateful for the years of his antics, snuggles, and love. RIP Courage the Cat.
