Are You Secretly Standing on Acres of Diamonds?
Our New Book Says You Are!
by Richard Fenton & Andrea Waltz

Dr. Russell Conwell was a well-known Baptist minister, author, speaker, and founder of Temple University. He also believed each and every person was standing on 'Acres of Diamonds', the title of his famous book first published in 1890.

“Your diamonds are not in far distant mountains or in yonder seas, they are in your own backyard, if you but dig for them.” - Russell H. Conwell

This message has always been one of our favorites and so finally, after working on this book here and there over the last couple of years, we’re bringing Conwell’s masterpiece to life in a new, inspirational fable called, The Diamond Line.

The Diamond Line finds the story’s main character, struggling entrepreneur Christopher Powers, traveling on the mysterious Diamond Line—a train route from his home in Chicago to New York City—where he plans to attend a business conference.  But readers soon discover the trip isn’t going to go as planned. (We love supernatural twists as our loyal readers know!)

As such, Christopher suddenly finds himself thrown back to the year 1888, meeting Russell H. Conwell on an antique train—along with other historical figures, including Andrew Carnegie, PT Barnum—and a young woman named Florence. Through the short journey, Christopher’s life will change forever.

Our goal for this book was to write a tribute to Russell Conwell’s masterpiece—a timeless classic that deserves to be re-imagined for the next generation of leaders and top achievers.  Using portions of actual, word-for-word text from the original work, Acres of Diamonds, The Diamond Line weaves together fact and fiction—including real events and quotes from the famous people the book features.

As with our other fables, you should find it entertaining, educational and short enough to be read in a single afternoon.

NOvember Trivia Answer
Sarah Joseph Hale persuaded Abraham Lincoln to declare Thanksgiving a national holiday. In her letter she mentioned that she had been advocating for a national Thanksgiving date for 15 years as the editor of a women's journal, and had been ignored completely. (Up until then, each state set its own Thanksgiving holiday at different times.) President Lincoln responded to her request immediately and the proclamation was made days later. Incidentally, Sarah was also the author of the popular nursery rhyme "Mary Had a Little Lamb."
A NOteworthy Thought of Gratitude
“Upon awakening, let the words Thank You flow from your lips, for this will remind you to begin your day with gratitude and compassion.”
