In the era of Shark Tank, watching businesses raise money has become major entertainment.
That's why
the post from co-founder and CEO Brian Chesky (on the blog site Medium) called 7 Rejections was so fun to read.
In 2008, the founders of Airbnb were attempting to raise $150,000. (As Brian points out, this means that for $150,000 you could have bought 10% of airbnb.)
If you visit the post, you'll see that Brian shares 5 of the actual emailed rejections that they received.
The other 2
actually never bothered to respond. (Sound familiar?)
As he says at the end, the next time you have an idea that gets rejected to remember these emails. Brian doesn't say what they did next but it's safe to say one thing: they did not give up.
