A couple days later Jordan forwarded me an email from a listener along with a $25 gift certificate to Chipotle. As much I love Mexican food of all kinds, I thought the story behind it was great. Here is a part of the email from the listener which I shortened just a bit: "I just listened to the Go for No podcast...I really took her advice to heart, and I actually used it immediately to get rid of a $25 late fee I had on my car insurance payment...basically what happened is, I called my insurance company to pay my bill and noticed there was a late fee on it. I wanted to ask if they could wave it for me, but the first thought that popped in my head was “why ask, they are just going to say no and this conversation is going to get awkward afterwards”. The second thought that popped in my head was “you idiot, we just listened to a podcast about this, it is ok to get a no, just ask!” So I asked, and they said YES. It was pretty easy. Since I would have surely given $25 to the insurance company if it was not for Andrea’s advice, I figured I should give it to her instead as a small token of my appreciation!"
