NOteworthy Quote of the Month |
"What is opportunity, and when does it knock? It never knocks. You can wait a whole lifetime, listening, hoping, and you will hear no knocking. None at all. You are opportunity, and you must knock on the door leading to your
destiny. You prepare yourself to recognize opportunity, to pursue and seize opportunity as you develop the strength of your personality, and build a self-image with which you are able to live -- with your self-respect alive and growing." - Maxwell Maltz

This Month's NOtivational Article |
Spring Cleaning Your List by Andrea Waltz It's spring and to me it means spring cleaning. I don't mind cleaning - I find it rather cathartic despite
the fact that all the gurus tell me to farm it out so I can spend time on my highest value activities. And they are right.
So instead of cleaning my house, I decided to clean up my prospect list.
We talk a lot about following up with people who have told you 'no.' But how do you know if you are just wasting your time? We hear it all the time - salespeople have a ton of people
in their pipeline that are not real buyers. So what to do? Perhaps it is time for some cleaning!
It's pretty simple: go through your list for the next few weeks and start contacting and cleaning. Recontact everyone. Make it very short and sweet. Remind them about your past contacts (example: you've left a couple voicemails over the past 3 months) and you thought you'd reach out one final time. Then, if you want, you could even add that if you don't hear back you will take
them off of your contact list. This way, if they do have an actual interest you'll get a call back even if it is to "stay on the list."
Now, it's up to you if you want to go ahead and take them off of your list if you don't hear back. If the person is still qualified, perhaps you could leave them on and try again next spring! However, if your follow up list is substantial and difficult to manage, it may be time to bring it down to a reasonable amount. Use your best
judgement, and after the cleaning, put a major focus on prospecting for more qualified leads and putting all those new people into your pipeline.
It's easy to feel like there are tons of opportunities when you have a massive list of people that have expressed past interest. However in reality often times, it just fools us to thinking we have more irons in the fire than we really do. So, take this opportunity and do some cleaning. (And maybe hire someone else to come clean the
house while you're at it!)

Andrea wrote a quick article on Medium about our business card. It's a story created by a little girl who asks her daddy for a cookie over and over. (We read this at most of our keynote speaking engagements and it is a highlight every time!)
Would you like a few cards? We're sending up to 25 per person, first come, first served. Just email katie@Goforno.com with your name, shipping address and quantity desired. We appreciate you all who love to share Go for No! with others and giving out these cards is one of the best ways to do it. So as always, thanks for your enthusiasm and interest!

This Month's Trivia Answer |
63% of people answered that the bathroom is the most hated room to clean. The survey also claims that 44% of people said they would rather speak in front of a large group than clean (which surprised us.) They also listed the top spring cleaning activities:
organize clothing, wash carpets, wash windows and clean out the refrigerator.
