NOteworthy Quote of the Month |
"There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in
love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create." - John Lennon

disappointed since.) Speaking of which, who was the genius that came up with the box of chocolates? Think you kNOw? Find out

Love to Be Persistent by Richard Fenton & Andrea Waltz "The fastest way to love being persistent is to make it pay off. But if you aren't -
it never will." - Andrea Waltz
How do you feel about being persistent? Do you think it's a valuable trait? Would you like to be more persistent? Or deep inside do you think it makes you someone who is manipulative and chases people - strong arming them into doing something they don't want?
How we feel about things often unknowingly sabotages our behavior. For example, the author that wants to write but thinks selling books is abhorrent is going to have a hard time being
successful. As our friend Randy Gage would tell you, the person who wants to be rich but resents the wealthy and thinks they're bad people, will struggle with money forever. How do you change how you feel about persistence? First, identify the feelings that come up. For most people, being persistent is fine intellectually but the feelings associated with it are fear and dread. The thought that
goes along with those feelings is, "this will not matter, this will make no difference to my success." And because they've never been persistent enough to see it pay off, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
You can change your thoughts right away. Instead of thinking, "this will not matter, this won't work" say to yourself, "persistence requires multiple contacts. I may hear no over
and over again until they finally say yes." The fear and dread will change when you take the action of being a persistent person and do the work. When you stick with it and follow up and see it pay off, your fear will diminish. Eventually... you can love to be persistent!

This Month's Trivia Answer |
The first chocolate box was "invented" by Richard Cadbury in 1868, when he decorated a candy box with a painting of his young daughter holding a kitten. He also invented the first Valentine's Day candy box. A recent study found that chocolate is
America's favorite flavor followed by vanilla and berry tied for second place!
