Early in our business, I was picking up Richard at the airport in San Diego. Normally I would've waited in the car out front but decided to come in and surprise him. This was back in the day before we spoke together at events and also pre-9/11 so people could still
walk through to the gate areas. So, I was waiting for him to walk up the ramp from the airplane and watched everyone else walk off the plane one by one. No Richard. That's when I heard my name over the loud speaker. They told me that he was being loaded onto an ambulance directly from the airplane. Well, you can imagine my surprise! Actually, I knew he wasn't feeling well recently and now (apparently) it had gotten worse! Once at Mercy Hospital in San Diego, we
found out that he had acute pancreatitis from a gallstone and it was serious. Seventeen days later, he was finally released.
So today, I'm just grateful to have my husband and business partner - alive. I'm grateful for the amazing life and business that we have created together, wonderful friends, family, our marketing assistant Katie, and our mascot Courage the Cat. Not a day goes by that I don't know how lucky I am and I count my blessings
