To Sell is to Serve

We have to laugh at the wild backlash against the term 'salesperson.' These days it seems that title falls somewhere between 'IRS agent' and Lucifer.  

Just an FYI, sell is defined as follows: "give or hand over (something) in exchange for money" or... "persuade someone of the merits of" as in an idea. So while our titles aren't salesperson we... here at 'Go for No!' sell. We all do. So we'd like to point out that when you do 'sell' whether you identify as a 'salesperson' or not... rest assured that you can do so at a high level of integrity with your head held high!

How? There is only one requirement: you being an advocate for your customer and doing what is in their best interest at every opportunity.  
In other words, to operate with a 'to sell is to serve' mindset. There is not a black and white choice of you as sleazy manipulative salesperson or you as angelic servant (who refuses to physically touch dollar bills lest you're reminded that you sold something!)  

Sell with your mission in mind: helping people by providing great value through your products and services. Enthusiastically show them every possible option that fits what they want and need, letting them tell you 'yes' or 'no.'  If they ask for your opinion, give it honestly and openly. If something doesn't fit their desires or needs, tell them. Selling and serving others are not choices, they can be one and the same.

The average shark has between 40-45 teeth and can have up to seven rows of replacement teeth. They lose them very quickly and so can go through upwards of 30,000 teeth in a lifetime. Sadly, many sharks are endangered or becoming so due to horrible practices like shark finning.
