NOteworthy Quote of the Month |
"When you fail it puts you in a place where you're more desperate and more motivated. You're always better when you're hungry than when you're sated. Also, success is false protection because the heat gets taken off you. For me, fear and confusion are sometimes
good places to start." - Willem Dafoe, Actor

Asking to Buy: Key to Cookie Sales by Richard Fenton & Andrea Waltz
Top cookie seller in the Girl Scout Organization, Katie Francis, explains that there are three ingredients to selling cookies. According to Katie it's, "Lots of time, lots of commitment, and I have to ask everybody I see."
As the cookie selling season finally came to a close (a sad time for anyone with a Thin Mint
obsession) Katie had reached 21,477 boxes sold, breaking the record of 18,000 held since 1986! Cookies sell themselves easily... Really? Granted we all like to help kids and who wants to pass up an altruistic dessert purchase? And yet, this little sixth graders' story will have been posted, tweeted, and shared hundreds and thousands of times all over
the world. And yet, why? The truth: because we all want to be her.
Cookies are just the beginning... She may be a kid and it may be just cookies... but today's cookies are tomorrow's start-ups, tech giants, and Spanx. We all know the "secret" is ask, ask, ask. But to watch someone take the time, dedication, and courage to put herself on the line over and
over again is downright inspiring.
So let this be a lesson for us all no matter how long it's been since we were 12 like Katie: Asking Leads to Sweet Success!

Richard & Andrea Recommend... |
"You work your butt off, but at the end of the day, you're no closer to success than you were yesterday. The ugly truth is that it's not what you're doing that is holding you back. It's who you are." That's the message from EDGY Conversations: How Ordinary People Can Achieve Outrageous Success by Dan Waldschmidt. You won't find a 4 step or 10 step 'process' for success here. In fact, it's Dan's position that "times change. So do tactics. What works for someone else
doesn't work for you. The right attitudes, on the other hand, create outcomes that are unpredictably magical." Bottom line, EDGY is a mindset change and it's a change that Dan believes can be made right now. His book, out just now, is
unlike any traditional business book you've ever seen. Literally, it is a gorgeous book with beautiful illustrations and vibrant colors jumping off the page. But enough about what we think... go check it out for yourself. Reading it just may transform your business and your life. If you order now during the book launch, Dan will even send you the edgy workbook at no charge. GO HERE! http://edgyconversations.com/
Favorite quote... "For every success I've had over the years, I've an equal number of disasters. Plus a ten-to-twenty fold return of plain-vanilla failures. But I also had some huge wins." - Dan Waldschmidt
