NOteworthy Thought of the Month

Brasington's Ninth Law: A carelessly planned project takes three times longer to complete than expected: a carefully planned one will take only twice as long.

Things always take longer than expected. That's why persistence as well as belief are the things that must carry you through those times you doubt you're on the right path!

Tis the Season to Give a NO...
by Richard Fenton & Andrea Waltz

It's better to give than receive. We've all heard that right?

Is it also true about giving and receiving a NO?  Perhaps.  But most people find it's while it's hard to receive a no it's also difficult to give one. Saying 'no' just like 'going for no" is an important skill. So, as the year rolls to a close, think about growing your skills in both areas.

We had a recent facebook discussion about this and consensus was clear: the more gracefully and easily you can say no when an offer is not for you, the better you will be at handling the no's that come your way.  Feel horrible about turning someone down? Then your own struggles with rejection will likely continue as well.  If it's a 'no' then deliver it using the tact, kindness, and honesty you would appreciate.

Maybe then you can both give and receive no's like... a gift exchange.

This Month's Trivia Answer
Image
Well as it turns out, although most of Santa's reindeer have male-sounding names, such as Blitzer, Comet, and Cupid, male reindeer shed their antlers around Christmas. That only leads us to conclude that the reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh are likely not male, but female! You go girls!
