"You
know, sometimes all you need is
twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just
embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of
it." - Benjamin Mee, 'We Bought A Zoo'

A Brief History of Failure
by
Richard Fenton & Andrea
Waltz
When we heard this story we knew
we had to share it. This is a brief history of failure. Not the
'universe' of failure... just one person's history. But it illustrates
the nature of failure, how it works on our psyche, and how by allowing
it and not avoiding it, successes are often right around the corner.
"The very first company I started failed with a great bang.
The second one failed a little bit less, but still failed.
The third one, you know, proper failed, but it was kind of okay. I
recovered quickly.
Number four almost didn't fail. It still didn't
really feel great, but it did okay.
Number five was PayPal."
- Max Levchin, former CTO of PayPal

"I
just try to find more creative ways to ask different questions, to make
sure that we've either hit a permanent cul-de-sac and there are
legitimate reasons why this will never work, or if this really is just
a "not now." - Scott Zimmerman
