It's Time To Fire
Yourself
by
Richard Fenton & Andrea Waltz
Two days before
Christmas, 2008, Tom Smallwood was fired from his job at GM putting
seat belts in cars. The first time he'd ever been
fired. Now
what?
He applied for dozens of jobs without success. Not a single
response. He was 31, had a wife and a 1-year old daughter,
and a
mortgage. So Tom Smallwood decided to use the only tool he
had
left at his disposal - a bowling ball. But here's the thing;
Tom
Smallwood had never made a penny bowling. He'd won a few
tournaments when he was younger, but never bowled
professionally.
But he was out of options.
So with 120 other wannabe bowlers Tom showed up at the PBA
(Professional Bowlers Association) Trials... and placed
third!
Now, that didn't mean he'd won any money, just that he could go on the
tour for one year.
Fast-forward to December, 2009... Tom Smallwood stands on the lanes in
Wichita, Kansas, fighting his pounding heart, needing 7 more pins to
win the PBA World Championship. Barely able to breathe, he
stepped forward... swung the ball, and let it roll.
Strike. $50,000 dollars later Tom Smallwood said that if he'd never
been fired, he'd never have attempted it. Maybe he should
have
been fired sooner.

Week "In the Club" |
We
are thrilled to bring you a special interview with the President and
Founder of High Probability Selling, Jacques Werth. We discovered High
Probability Selling (HPS) a few years ago and saw great
synergy
between it and our sales philosophy. Like "Go for No!" it may seem counter-intuitive at first, yet as Jacques Werth describes so well in our
interview, it creates trust and respect between the salesperson and
prospect. Please take the time to come listen! Already
