This
Week's Trivia Question |
Acceptance of the
typewriter was slow at
first, but helped along by various improvements including the shift key,
which made it possible
to type both capital and lower-case letters with the same keys... What
year was the shift key added?

Did you just do a double
take? Probably. Most people do as they pass this brand new book on the
shelf. It's designed to catch your attention! But unlike many
books that use a catchy title for
precisely that purpose, this book (by professional speaker and coach
Jennifer Powers) delivers more than just a witty title. A lot more.
What Jennifer does in this gem is to
remind us
what we already know - that we have complete control over our thoughts
and subsequent actions. And, as a result, we control every aspect of
the lives we choose to live. Just a few "snapshots" from this
motivational masterpiece include...
• In your head you decide how
you will react to
everything that happens. You have a choice. But here's the rub. Two
people live in your head and they are both YOU.
• If you want to fix anything,
you have to first
recognize what is NOT working.
• When you are lying on your
deathbed, will you
be wishing you were known as a jerk or a Zen monk?
• Things really don't happen TO
you. Things just
happen. It's how you react to those things that give you control of
your life.
But, to do Jennifer's concepts justice, and since reprinting her book
in our e-zine would not work, we decided we'd simply interview
her! (See "This Week In The Club" below)

Last
year, we tried, unsuccessfully, to get March 4th (as in "March Forth!")
officially designated as "Go for No! Day." As it turned out it was too
associated with a business venture so they turned us down. But to us,
it is still our day. So, in advance, we're wishing you
(unofficially) Happy Go for No! Day! May you march
forth and
get those no's (and yeses!)

"I'm
a huge proponent of the Go for No! paradigm shift, and I think that if
we can influence people in just a little small way, that when somebody
says "No" to you, that doesn't mean they're rejecting you personally,
they're just saying "No" to your concept." - Burke Hedges
