What Being Unshakeable Really Means   by Andrea Waltz At the Sell Well conference in Houston last week, brilliant event creator Catherine Brown kicked things off with a story that completely reframed how we think about being unshakeable which was the theme. Visiting San
Francisco, she had the opportunity, along with her husband Ryan, to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge. An iconic moment, right? But what she didn't expect was how much that thing moves. It's a suspension bridge,
after all. It sways. And when the wind is up and cars are zooming by, it's a little more white-knuckle adventure than relaxing stroll. (They ended up walking single file!) But here's the
brilliant twist she shared. Being unshakeable isn’t about being rigid. It’s not about bracing against the world or locking yourself in place. It's about being able to move and still hold your footing. It's about flexibility with integrity. Think less immovable boulder or perfect "rock" and more "palm tree in a hurricane." Too many of us (especially in sales) think being unshakeable means never flinching, never showing fear, never having a bad day. Real strength is walking across the bridge even when it's shaking beneath you. (Plus, I'd be shaking too. I'm not a heights person. 😜) That’s what we do when we Go for No. We keep moving forward, even when things feel wobbly. We expect the wind. Not surprised when the bridge sways. We just keep going.
