When a "Low NO Day" Turns Into a Big Win   by Andrea Waltz
Most people in sales track yeses. Signed contracts. Closed deals. New clients. One of our Go for No! 21-Day Challenge participants, Henry, has been doing the opposite for 43 straight days (as of this writing) and tracking NOs. (He's also been posting his Challenge tracking sheets in our private group, love the
consistency!) On this one day, his goal was 4 NOs. He only got 1. By his own effort rating, it was a "5 out of 10." An average day. But here’s what really happened: - A client he
had patiently followed up with for almost a month placed an order that was way over their original budget.
- He made 2 new business connections.
That's the power of tracking NOs: some days look like misses, but they’re actually harvest days. The asks you made weeks ago suddenly sprout. Missing your no goal isn't failure. It's part of the cycle. What seems like average effort still compounds into above-average results. Your biggest wins often arrive on the days you least expect. Henry's "low no day" proves the point: one no, a meh effort rating and it turned into a huge yes. Don't
wait for confidence. Pick a small no goal today (even just 1). Track it. Some days you'll plant seeds. Some days you'll harvest. Both count! (Btw, the last Go for No 21-Day Challenge of 2025 is coming, details below.)
