The Most Courageous Guy I Know  by Andrea Waltz Happy Birthday to Richard 🎂🎉 The most honestly "scared" (aka: courageous) person I know. (In the best way.) If
you only know him from stage clips or quick conversations, you'd assume he's fearless. The reality is different and he readily admits it. As we say on stage all the time, Richard never could have truly embraced the Go for No message if he was "fearless..." let alone could he have written the book.  Go for No wasn’t born from a person who felt invincible. It came from someone who hated the feeling of No so much that he decided to flip the whole thing on its head and make sense of it. That’s why his perspective matters. He didn’t
conquer fear first. He created a framework so he could move through life despite having it. You don’t need a fearless personality to pursue anything meaningful. You don’t need to “fix yourself” before you act. You can be anxious, uncomfortable, unsure, and still try things. Ask, fail, learn. Keep going. I think more of us need to hear this especially in a world obsessed with "crushing fear" or worse, pretending it isn't there. You don’t need to eliminate fear to do meaningful work. You just need to keep moving with it.
Work around it and don’t let it decide anything. So happy birthday, Richard. Proof that being "scared of No" can turn into a philosophy, an entire business, a partnership, and a story we’re somehow still adding chapters to!
