Last week I found an old photo of Richard and me with Jack Canfield.Â
Yes, that Jack Canfield (amazing speaker, author of Chicken Soup for The Soul, The Success
Principles, etc.) which was taken at a book marketing and speaking boot camp in 2005. 😲 (It's on this LinkedIn post if you want to see it.)
We were in year five of building our business, still full of big dreams... still struggling to get out there with Go for No.Â
That event? A major turning point. It changed our
lives.Â
A few years later we’d end up interviewing Jack for our Go for No! documentary at his home. And not too long ago, we saw him again on stage in Orlando where (surreal moment) he gave us a shoutout from the stage!Â
But none of that would’ve happened without one small decision: we said, yes.
That’s what happens when you attend events.Â
They teach you, sure. But more than that, they connect you.
With mentors.
With future collaborators.
Sometimes even with the people you admired from afar who suddenly become part of your journey.
Which is why I’m telling you this:
If you get the chance to go to an in-person event that speaks to you...?Â
GO.
And if you're in B2B sales, I’ve got one:
💥 Sell
Well – Sept 11-12 in Houston 💥
It’s not your average "sit-in-a-chair-till-your-eyes-cross" sales event. It’s practical, smart, human and filled with the kinds of people you want to learn from and be around. (Spoiler alert: We are speaking there, too!)Â
Whether it’s the content or a conversation over coffee, you never know which moment will change everything.Â
Go for No! and also, say Yes!Â
