Rejection: a Moment or a Monster? Ā Ā by Andrea Waltz
When it comes to rejection, we often react like weāve seen a ghostāscared of something weāve imagined as far worse than it is.Ā Just like a ghost, rejection seems terrifying until you face it and realize itās not what you thought.Ā As Wayne Dyer said, "The fears you don't face control you. The fears you face, you move beyond."Ā Weāre not afraid of the āNoā itself, but of the phantom consequences we conjure up:Ā Ā - What if they think Iām not good enough?Ā
- What if Iām embarrassed?
- What if this one attempt is it... my last chance?Ā
These fears are just spooky shadows of our imagination. Go for No! shines a light on these fears. š¦ By embracing the possibility of hearing āNo,ā you see rejection for what it really isāa momentary answer, not a monster.Ā Each āNoā is just part of the haunted house you walk through with courage, until those creaks and moans donāt even make you flinch. So, the next time youāre afraid to ask, remember: itās not the rejection you fear, but the ghost youāve created in your mind.Ā
