November 16, 2009. 15 years ago we started sending out a NOtivational e-zine.Â
I'm not even sure that's a term people use anymore, I
guess maybe newsletter is better.Â
There's not much news in rejection since we all have it happen, a lot of the time. Instead of "news" it should be, "same old, same old." 😆Â
Around the same we started the
newsletter, we paid a hefty fee to produce a show we called "The Courage Crafters Show" through VoiceAmerica.Â
They had a new technology called "online radio." 😲Â
We did one one season. It was a lot of work and
getting people to adopt this new behavior of listening online was not easy. (A little too cutting edge.)Â
So, we abandoned it.Â
We quit our "online radio" experiment because it wasn’t the right fit at
the time: a strategic decision to let go of something that wasn’t working, so we could focus on what was.Â
There's a big difference between quitting and giving up. Big quitting is throwing in the towel on your dreams. Small quitting? That's smart. It's about adjusting, pivoting, and recognizing when one path isn't leading you where you want to
go.
Here we are, 15 years later, proving that persistence doesn't mean doing everything—it means doing the right things consistently. So, quit the wrong stuff if you need to, but never stop showing up for what really matters.
Here's to the next 15 years of NOtivation! 🥂
