On this day, a legend was born... and also me. Seriously, it is my birthday today, and I am feeling a little wiser, not too much older.*
*Except when I stand up from
a chair and feel compelled to make a grunting noise which seems to help me get up. Gravity is real. 😜
I looked up who else I share a birthday with, and one notable person is M. Night Shyamalan, who made the movie, The Sixth Sense.
That movie helped to inspire Richard and me to spend five years (from 2014 to 2018) writing a ten-book, 2000-page paranormal suspense series called Onyx Webb.
The dream is to sell it to Netflix. 🎥
Spoiler alert: At present, it is a complete and total commercial failure. 👀
(But I will say, it was the success of Go for No! that gave us the resources to pursue it.) Still, we spent thousands of hours (and thousands of dollars) writing and producing that work.
Of all the things in my life that I have done even with the many successes that I've had, that failure is still one of the favorite things I've been able to do. As author John Green said, "What is the point of being alive if you don't at least try to do something remarkable?"
So, here's to another year of successes and failures! 🥂
Oh, and I haven't given up on that dream. If you know any Netflix execs, let me know. 😉
