The Toxic Habit You Should Ditch Immediately by Andrea Waltz Several weeks ago I told a story about a guy who was late getting to the post office and when he was told they were closed, he exclaimed, "Story of my life!" Have you ever bought
something or did business with this type of person? Nothing is ever “going right” for them. And they're eager to complain: - The economy is awful.
- Their team lost the big game.
- Other drivers are
idiots.
- The company made a dumb decision.
- Prospects are "ghosting" them left and right.
Are you the type of person other people want to be around, talk to, and do
business with? Every time you catch yourself either blaming or complaining, STOP, regardless of whether it’s out loud to someone else or in your own head. See what a difference it makes in your life. It's been a
practice of ours for years. Try it for just one week and watch what happens. I think you'll get two benefits: - You'll feel better about your
circumstances.
- You'll be the type of person people want to buy from.
I'm not saying that just by being "positive" you'll get more sales. But I am saying that negative people are probably losing out on sales and referrals. By the way, coach Lou Holtz gave some good advice related to this. He said: "Don't burden people with your complaints. 90% of the people you meet don't care about your troubles. The other 10% are glad you have them." 😜
