One of the things I discuss in the Ask Your Ask-Off Challenge are the beliefs that you may have been
taught about asking while growing up. Things like:
Asking is rude... don't be rude.
Don't look greedy. (You don't need more.)
Hold back, be polite, wait.
Don't push, if they want it, they'll tell you.
How are these beliefs serving you now?
Welcome to the 21st century. A business world that can feel like being on the football field. Lots of competition. Uncertain economy.
And when you look around and watch someone else get a promotion, sell their idea, be selected for a special project, or a big yes... you think, what's the secret?
Maybe they are not buying into these false beliefs about asking. And they are willing to face rejection.
The best way to dismantle these myths and face rejection fears is to challenge them by engaging in more asking.
What about you? Did you grow up with some of these beliefs about asking?
Go for No! Recommends...
Sometimes it takes many asks to help people off the fence of indecision. So,
here's one more. The 7-Day Challenge is starting on Thursday so now is the time to get in!
