We've managed to publish a NOtivation every month for 13 years... cutting it close this month for sure!
The theme for this summer based on everyone I've been talking to is...
No!
In a recent survey, we asked for your opinions and experiences. Here is what we've heard so far:
- 47% said they face rejection constantly (daily).
- 40% said frequently (several times a week)
Btw, if you have not taken this survey, we'd be grateful if you would, it'll take just a couple minutes for us to learn a little more about you.

How Do You Survive a Summer of No?
I'll always remember the time Richard and I went to a buffet dinner in Las Vegas before going to see Penn & Teller perform. I got pulled on stage to do a trick with Penn's magician's hat and a rabbit! But I digress...
This was one of those insane "monster buffets" and the speciality was seafood.
As I walked past the tables it was interesting to see the diverse selections. At one table, a woman sat with a literal mountain of crab legs piled onto her plate and spilling onto the table. It was ridiculous.
What does this have to do with you??
The key to surviving "no" is like walking through a giant buffet.
You pick what
you want and what works for you and leave the rest.
- For some it's found in building belief. In yourself, your company and product.
- For others it's to focus on the "mission" you're on, keeping your head down and staying persistent.
- For others it's faith.
- For some it's better self-management and avoid
distractions.
- For others it's learning and practicing the right message and communicating with the most effective wording.
- And for some, it's a buffet of all this and more.
Like a good buffet though, there is no "perfect" plate except the
one you make for yourself.
So, take the time to seek out what you need. The yeses are there but you must hang in there to find them.
